Turkey Burgers - Alice Kuhar's Recipes

TURKEY BURGERS
|
Ingredients:
2 egg whites
|
1/3-cup finely chopped onion
|
1/3-cup soft bread crumbs
|
2 cloves garlic, minced
|
2 tablespoons snipped fresh parsley
|
1 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
|
1/2 teaspoon salt
|
1/8 teaspoon pepper
|
1/4 teaspoon dried tarragon, crushed
|
1-1/2 lb. skinned, boned turkey, ground
|

Directions:
In a small bowl beat egg whites till foamy. Stir in bread crumbs, onion, parsley, garlic, basil, tarragon, salt and pepper. Add turkey; mix well. Shape into eight 1/2-inch-thick patties (mixture may be soft).
Spray coat grill rack with nonstick spray coating. Grill over medium-hot Coals for 6 minutes. Turn and grill for 6 to 8 minutes more or till no longer pink. OR, to broil, spray cool broiler pan with nonstick coating spray. Broil 4 to 5 inches From heat for 9 to 10 minutes or till no longer pink, turning once.
Enjoy these lean burgers either grilled or sautéed. For low-fat sautéing, simply spray a large skillet with nonstick coating before cooking. (You may substitute chicken for turkey.)
