The New Skipper's Lil Buddies - It’s all about the Kids!

An exciting new kids club, and a radio show for, with, and all about kids has hit the airwaves of 1330 AM WELW every Friday evening at 6pm. Hosted by well-known community coach "Captain Kirk" Stonebrook and WELW’s General Manager Ray Somich, the Skipper's Lil Buddies (SLB) radio show primarily talks baseball, especially featuring Lake County Captains players and news. But keeping in the spirit of family fun, the SLB also gives kids of all ages an outlet to share many of their interests and activities, in a way that is sometimes unpredictable and surprisingly fun.

Captain Kirk will visit local schools, baseball diamonds, and youth groups; talking sports and recruiting new members into the all new SLB. Card-carrying SLB members will enjoy many benefits, including discounts and special offers at area stores and restaurants. They will also get "hot off the press" e-mails about the Lake County Captains, and unique activities planned just for members, with special opportunities to meet the players and Skipper, the official Captains Mascot.
